Welcome to Denette Family Chiropractic!

We strive to make your experience here exceptional!  If you are coming in for the first time, your appointment will take about an hour.  We will review your health history, perform an examination and, if necessary, refer you out for x-rays.  These steps will help us know how best to help you and it will also give us a baseline to measure your progress.  After your first visit, we will book you for your second visit, which is called your Report of Findings.

Before Your Visit

Call (508) 230-5056 to book your appointment.  New client appointments take place outside of regular adjusting hours so that we can focus exclusively on you.

Your First Visit

Consultation

Your visit will begin with a consultation.  This is where we go through your health history, answer any questions you may have and determine how chiropractic may help you achieve your health goals.

Examination

The doctor will then perform a thorough chiropractic examination of your spine and nervous system. This includes a posture analysis.

Your Second Visit

Report of Findings

The doctor will sit down, go through and explain everything that was discovered during the exam.  If taken, the x-rays will be shown and discussed.  A plan of care will be decided upon and financial options will be presented.

First adjustment

When care has been deemed necessary and agreed upon, your first gentle adjustment will be given.

Frequently asked questions

We want your experience in our office to be as comfortable as possible.  To that end, these are some questions that we are frequently asked about the care in our office.

What financial options are available?2018-07-19T19:02:33+00:00

We want to make care as affordable as possible.  We offer individual and family care plans.  These plans are based on the number of visits determined during your exam and offer up to a 30% savings from the usual fees.  People can also pay at a per visit fee a la carte.  We accept cash, checks and all major credit cards.

Do you take insurance?2022-03-10T19:07:28+00:00

We accept most insurances, and we will work with you to ensure that you receive your insurance benefits.  Please be aware that every insurance plan is different.  We are in network providers with BlueCross BlueShield, Harvard Pilgrim, Tufts, Allways, and Medicare.  If you have another insurance, you may have ‘out of network’ benefits, in which chiropractic care may be covered.  Check with your health insurance company for details.  Chiropractic services are also covered by Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury Protection.

Can I use my Flexible Spending or HSA account?2018-07-19T19:12:35+00:00

If you have a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account or a Health Savings Account offered by your employer the balance in this account can usually be allocated for health related services and products, including chiropractic services. We are happy to provide you with a receipt for reimbursement. Please verify reimbursement details with your employer.

Do I need an x-ray?2018-10-04T18:15:18+00:00

We only recommend x-rays if we feel they are necessary and make this decision on an individual basis. The reason we take x-rays is because they act as road map for the best course of care for your spine. They can also help us reveal past injuries, possible underlying causes of discomfort such as spinal curvatures, signs of arthritis, and the degree of degeneration.

How safe is chiropractic care?2018-10-04T18:17:44+00:00

Chiropractic care has an exceptional safety record when provided by trained professionals.  It is one of the safest drug free, non-invasive therapies available.  One of the best ways to compare safety is by considering the cost of malpractice insurance.  The cost of an average year of malpractice insurance for a chiropractor barely covers a month of a medical primary care doctor’s malpractice insurance.

Will my adjustment hurt?2018-07-19T18:42:42+00:00

Sometimes a person may be sore after their first few adjustments.  The degree of soreness is the same as a person may experience after exercising at the gym.  This soreness is caused by the body adjusting to the realignment of the spine which has been in the same position for a long time.  Think of it as a new gym routine; muscles, ligaments, and tendons need time to readjust to the re-alignment of your spine.

Is chiropractic appropriate for children?2018-07-19T18:44:00+00:00

Not only is chiropractic care appropriate for children, it makes its most powerful impact on children. Receiving chiropractic care is about much more than back aches. Studies have shown that regular pediatric chiropractic care can bolster children’s immune systems, improve sleep quality, even improve behavior and attitude. Most people incur their first subluxation, misalignment of the spine with nerve pressure, during the birthing process. Our goal is to correct any misalignments in the spine to allow the nervous system, the system that controls all our body’s processes, to function optimally without interference. The earlier in life a person gets adjusted the better!

What is the noise I hear when I get adjusted?2018-10-04T17:46:57+00:00

Picture a suction cup on a window.  Now when the suction cup is quickly pulled off the window, a popping sound is heard.  A vacuum is created, and the air rushes in to fill this vacuum.  Something similar can happen in your body when the adjustment occurs: a small vacuum is created in the space between the bones in your back, the vertebrae, resulting in a temporary influx of synovial fluid, or the dissolved gasses in the synovial fluid. The fluid or the gas rushes into the vacuum that we just created between the bones, causing the sound. To most people this release feels great, but if the sound is an issue for you please let us know. Many chiropractic adjustments can be done without causing that sound and are just as effective. Also, unlike what some of our grandmothers told us, that popping does not cause arthritis or have any negative effects on our body in general.
